![]() ![]() It was my fourth RMC (Twisted Colossus, Twisted Cyclone, Storm Chaser) and comfortably the best I have been on. Rode this on Sunday and absolutely loved it. Other parks have not had issues with load times or stacking, and given that Iron Gwazi is running with just 2 trains (unlike the 3 on Steel Vengeance, though the CP coaster has an MCBR), as long as the crew is properly staffed (at least 4 checkers), it should operate pretty efficiently.īeing a new, record breaking coaster, I would expect wait times to be in the 1-2 hour range on normal days, and over 2 hours on busy days, which would be on par with the waits for other "BIG" coasters in Florida when they first debuted. We're tentatively planning a trip to BGT in October, so we'll have to wait a few more months to experience Iron Gwazi first - RMCs all have similar seat belt/lap bar systems, and most parks are similarly doing a 2-stage restraint check process - once down the train to check belts, and then a second check after bars have been locked. I wish we had time to check this out for ourselves this weekend when we're in the area, but since we're basing in Orlando, a half-day trip to Tampa just won't work, though we might hop over to Sea World to see if we can get a ride on Ice Breaker. Maybe since so many of the early reviews are coming from Cedar Point and general coaster fanboys that the opinions are very tempered. IMHO, the videos make Iron Gwazi appear to be a sure-fire winner that trades the intensity of Steel Vengeance for excitement and fun. We love it so much that next time we go to Florida, we'll by flying into Tampa instead of Orlando.I'm so thrilled that you were able to make it on Iron Gwazi Bobbie!! It does look like a pretty amazing ride, but I find it strange that most of the early reviews are not overwhelmingly putting it on par with Steel Vengeance. Busch is definately worth a trip from Orlando. Also, if you are with kids, like us, you may want to skip the brewery tour, and the free beer that goes with it. Once inside, there is so much to see and do, you probably wont be able to complete it all in one day. For those who remember, It is not as good as "Kaliedescope," the original show that played there, but better than any other theme park show anywhere! Parking is a bit messy, and getting from your car to the entrance still needs to be improved. It replaces an ice show that was just ok. "Katanoga" is a must see song and dance show at the beautiful Morrocan Palace Theater. This place sizzles with live entertainment, which is getting scarcer in lesser parks. The best thing about Busch, however, are the shows. Adding to the nice atmosphere is a friendly staff. It is a slower more family friendly place. However, it never feels crowded or hurried like a Six Flags Park. This park is big, and sometimes confusing. There are plenty of rides for smaller visitors, and they are all located in one area. The water rides are really wet, so if you don't want to get soaked don't go on them. For adults, the coasters are thrilling and abundent. The live animals are educational, but in an entertaining way making Busch perfect for children. It has Disney beat when it comes to carrying a theme, and the live animals beat Disney's animatronics anyday. Of note is the pastry, and the fancy sit down restaurant with sweeping views of the Serengeti Plains. The food is varied, although a bit pricey, but the quality is excellent. It has lush landscaping, beautiful buildings, and is spotless. ![]() But the lack of a fast ticket service, the terrible way the queues are set up and the tacky feel in certain parts of the park make this far and away the worst park in the Orlando area.īusch Gardens Tampa, like the sister park in Virginia, is one of the most beautiful parks in the world. This park could be great (the new Sheikra is the best ride my family and I have been on). We intended to stay all day but left at 3pm totally fed up having only been on 3 of the large rides in 6 hours. The restaurant where we ate was dirty and it was the only time during our fortnight stay in Orlando (where we ate out twice a day) that we were bothered with flies all round the table. When we finally got on the ride- it was very poor compared to Splash Mountain in Disney, Atlantis in Seaworld or the " excellent flumes in Islands of Adventure. We were packed in a crowded area with no air- one child actually passed out. We queued for the log flume for over an hour (the q-time at the entrance was given as 30 mins). ![]() No fastpass tickets so average queues well over an hour- some over 90 minutes. Please dont waste your time & petrol money travelling from Orlando to this theme park. ![]()
